Centre for Psychedelic Research

The Psychedelic Research Group at Imperial College London was started by Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris. He and Dr. David Nutt and Amanda Feilding of the Beckley Foundation are members of the group’s research team. The group focuses on two main research areas. The first is studying the action of psychedelic drugs in the brain, such as a 2012 study that used fMRI to see the effects of psilocybin on the human brain. The second area is understanding how psychedelic drugs can be used in psychotherapy, particularly as it pertains to depression.
