Scientists Solve the Crystal Structure of 4-HO-DPT

This new solvate form opens to door to understanding its physical properties and testing its activity at biological receptors.

4-HO-DPT (4-Hydroxy-N,N-dipropyltryptamine) is a psilocybin derivative and structural homolog of psilocin. This new crystal form of 4-HO-DPT gives researchers new options for developing psychedelics into therapeutic drug formulations. The authors of the study describe the crystal structure as “…a singly protonated DPT cation, one half of a fumarate dianion (completed by a crystallographic centre of symmetry) and two water molecules of crystallization in the asymmetric unit.”
