Albert Hofmann synthesizes LSD-25 while working at Sandoz Laboratories in Switzerland. He was researching lysergic acid derivatives looking for respiratory and circulatory stimulants. LSD-25 was the 25th such derivative he synthesized. His work priorities changed and he set the work aside for five years before coming back to it in the mid-1940s.
