September 2020

Launched with $1.25 million in seed funding from an anonymous donor, the new center (aka BCSP) will research the effects of psychedelic compounds on cognition, perception, and emotion, and their biological bases in the human brain.

BCSP has a comprehensive program for educating the public about psychedelic science and research. UC Berkeley professor of journalism and best-selling author Michael Pollan, one of the center’s founders, will head the educational arm of the center.
